Mosquito for Trombone and Brass Band

Nick Hudson (English Trombone-player) asked me if I could write something for a CD-project he was planning. I composed a musical picture featuring the Trombone where I explored the very special things that a virtuose Tromboneplayer can do, like sustained playing in the high register, mute-effects combined with slide activity and various glissandi.

However, Mr. Hudson choosed another piece of mine instead («Light» for Trombone and Marimba), so I asked Irene Graven to do the work with Krohnengen Brass Band. A couple of weeks later it recieved its first performance by Irene, Krohnengen BB and Stian Svendsen conducting.
