Commissioned by The Royal Norwegian Marine Band/Nigel Boddice for a concert tour to Scotland in 1999.
It is based on arrangement I originally made for brass band.
Part I: Tunes from Ryfylke (Fra Ryfylke)
The first (and last) tune is originally a lullaby. I have made it more like a fanfare/dance tune.
The slow part is a religious tune. Both melodies are found in the area east of Stavanger at the South-west coast of Norway.
Part II: Tunes from the Lofoten Islands (Fra Borge)
I have based this part on two religious folk songs from Borge in the Lofot-island.
Part III: Norwegian Dance
The last part is based on a famous Norwegian tune that even Edvard Grieg used for one of his symphonic dances.
Each piece is published seperately.
